How to Find Blog Topics for Your Company
When your business has a website, one of the most important features it should have is a blog. Blogs improve your site’s visibility with search engines. Regularly updated blogs indicate to search engines that your site is relevant and up-to-date. Blogs also allow businesses to showcase their expertise.
To get started, figure out what your website stands for and who your target audience is. If the site is designed so you can talk to other businesses, your topics will be different than if you trying to attract customers.
Next, consider some of the services you provide or the things you sell. For example, if you owned a bike shop, then you might write down: tires, ten speeds, helmets, water bottles, air pumps, and tubes. Now, break it down further by writing out a few things connected to or important about these items.
As an example, we’ll take this example and go a bit further. For instance, if you were a bike shop owner, you might further break down your initial list like this:
- The importance of hydration and biking
- The best water bottles for long distance biking
- Comparisons of different types of water bottle materials
- Best and worst water bottle clips/devises for mountain bikes
From those initial services, you now have some specific topics for blogs. These are topics that people interested in your service would also be interested in reading. In the eyes of the public, the same people that would search for “bike shops” or related subjects will find your content compelling and interesting. These blogs will also help solidify your status as an expert in your field.
No matter what your business is, there is always something to write about in your blog. Tapping into your creative side isn’t hard, and if you’re willing to do a little brainstorming, you can come up with great blog topics.
